Dasyochloa is a genus of herbaceous plants belonging to the Poaceae family. It is native to the United States and southern Mexico.

It is considered by some authors as a synonym of the genus Erioneuron.

Taxonomy

The genus was described by Willd. ex Rydb. and published in Journal of Botany, British and Foreign 66: 141. 1928. The type species is: Dicrocaulon pearsonii N.E. br.

Etymology

Dasyochloa: generic name derived from the Greek words: dasys = "thick, hairy, rough" and chloé = "grass".

Cytology

Base number of the chromosome, x = 8. 2n = 16.
