In 1998, Daniel Baldwin was found running naked through the halls of the Plaza Hotel in New York, while shouting his last name. For this reason and after being investigated, he was first arrested for possession of cocaine. After being arrested, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to three months in drug rehabilitation. Some time later, he confessed to & # 34; People magazine & # 34; that he had indeed been battling a cocaine addiction since 1989.

On April 22, 2006, Baldwin was arrested a second time, this time for possession of drug paraphernalia, at a hotel in Santa Monica, California. He was arrested again on July 19, 2006, but in this case due to a traffic incident. According to police, Baldwin ran a red light while driving in West Los Angeles just before 1 p.m. m.. He then crashed his rental Ford Thunderbird into two other parked cars while traveling at 80 mph (130 km/h), in a 35 mph (56 km/h) maximum speed zone. Jason Lee, Los Angeles police spokesman stated that "The Thunderbird pushed one of the vehicles about 20 feet (6.1 m), this being the equivalent of a Hummer." At the same time, the police exposed that Baldwin was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident. He was transferred to UCLA Medical Center with back and neck injuries, but did not appear to be seriously injured.
