Contenido In Greek mythology Damnameneo is the name of several characters who, due to their attributions, are often confused with each other:
- One of the telquines, the nine sea monsters, sons of Ponto and Talasa, who had dog head and snake tail or fish.
- One of the healings or coribantes, rustic gods of the Cretan mountains that were born of the blood of Uranus, Gea or Crono, according to the authors. It was the demons Rea entrusted with the care of his son Zeus to prevent him from being swallowed by Crono. The healers were in charge of hitting their shields every time the child cried, so that he would not be heard by his father. They were inventors of metallurgy, grazing, apculture and hunting. They were also the first armed soldiers, and the gods of the orgystic dances celebrated in their honor by the young people of Crete and Eubea.
- One of the dactiles, the five demons that, together with their sisters, hecatérides, represented the fingers of their hands. They were sons of Gea or Hecatero and Anquíale, according to the versions. The tactiles harmoniously joined their sisters as one narrow hand the other, and from this union were born the satires, the oreian nymphs and the second healers.
- A Damnameneo room, which has nothing to do with previous ones, felt great weakness for women. When she fell in love with Melis, she harassed her so much that she ended up throwing herself at the sea to run away from her requests.
