Daikondi (also spelled Daikundi) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. It was created on March 28, 2004. Previously, the region was an isolated district of Urūzgān province.

It is located about 310 kilometers from Kabul and 160 kilometers from Tarin Kowt.

The capital of Daikondi is Nili. Most of the population of Daikundi belongs to the Hazara ethnic group. 7 of the 8 districts of Daikundi are Hazara populated areas. Gezab is the only district with an ethnic Pashtun majority. In the past, there have been disputes between different groups of Hazaras, which led to the deaths of approximately 70,000 people.

The province of Daikondi is famous for the quality of its almonds, which are distributed throughout Afghanistan.
