The flag of Croatia consists of three equally sized horizontal stripes of red, white and blue. In the middle is the coat of arms of Croatia.

The flag has been in force since December 21, 1990, ten months before its independence. While Croatia was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the flag was similar, but had a red five-pointed star with a yellow border instead of the coat of arms.
