Commemorations and services of the attacks of July 7, 2005 in London

Contenido Following the events of the July 7, 2005 attacks in London, the United Kingdom and other countries have held many displays in honor of the deceased and missing. Most of these services respond to minutes of silence, lighting candles, vigils and leaving flowers at the sites of the attacks. Foreign leaders have also honored the dead by ordering their flags to be flown at half-mast, signing books of condolence at UK embassies and posting messages and condolences to Britons.

United Kingdom
- The government ordered the United Kingdom flag to wave halfway from the attack.
- On July 9, the bishop of London led the prayers for the victims during a tribute to the Role of Women in World War II.
- A vigil was held for the victims of the London attacks since 17:00 on Saturday, July 9, at the Friends Meeting House garden, Euston Road, opposite Euston Station, London. La Vigia was convened by Stop the War Coalition, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and Muslim Association of Britain.
- Two minutes of silence was maintained for the victims of the attacks on 14 July 2005 throughout Europe
- On July 14, thousands of people attended a vigil at 18:00 at Trafalgar Square. After an initial silence, there were a series of presentations during the next two hours. Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks speaking of London said, "He has the courage not to give terror the victory of making us angry and in our angry losing the values that make us what we are. Let the value join us now." His words were repeated by many other speakers.
International
Books of condolence
- New Zealand - In Auckland, New Zealand, Prince William of Wales signed in the condolence book of the British consulate.
- United States - In Washington, the U.S. Navy interpreted the "God Save The Queen" outside the British embassy. Dozens of bouquets and notes were deposited in embassies with messages like "Today, we are all British." [2]. U.S. President George W. Bush visited the embassy on July 8, following the round of the G8 summit, and signed in the condolence book. [3] "God Save the Queen" also played during the pre-game celebrations of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Comerica Park in Detroit on July 12.
Flags at half mast
- Canada - All federal government buildings and establishments across Canada, including the Peace Tower, and the UK. [4]
- New Zealand - Prime Minister Helen Clark asked New Zealand's flags to wave half the day after the attacks. [5]
- France - President Jacques Chirac asked the flags to wave half a flag in France for 3 days.
Moments of silence
- - The European Parliament held a minute of silence to mourn the death of the victims of the explosions [6].
- Poland - The lower chamber of the Polish parliament, Sejm, made a minute of silence.
- Ireland - The Irish government organized two minutes of silence [7] on Thursday, July 14, while in the United Kingdom.
Services
- Spain- God Save The Queen was interpreted the change of the royal guard in the Plaza de Oriente de Madrid in memory of the victims of the attacks. The ceremony was attended by the British ambassador and members of the Spanish royal family. Following the 11-M attacks in Madrid, the United Kingdom held a similar ceremony at Buckingham Palace. [8]
- Australia- God Save The Queen was sung in a service at St Andrews Cathedral, Sydney. Prime Minister John Howard read a Bible passage and Phillip Jensen gave a sermon about the devil's problem and what the Bible says about it.
