Colacium is a genus of colonial and sessile unicellular algae, belonging to the group of Euglenids. During the mobile phase, cells have a flagellum that is reduced when they enter the sessile phase. In this phase, the flagella remain hidden in the reservoir. In the sessile phase, these organisms are attached to the substrate by means of a gelatinous stalk.
