Claudia Isabel Palacios Giraldo (Cali, October 1, 1977) is a Colombian journalist, presenter and writer.

Until he was 15 years old, he lived in Palmira, a municipality near the capital of Valle del Cauca where he studied at the Sacred Heart of Jesus College of the Bethlemite Sisters. He then settled in Bogotá where he studied Journalism and Social Communication at the Javeriana University.

Graduated as a journalist from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, She began her journalistic career in a television program called Ambientalizate, from the Administrative Department of Environmental Management in Cali and produced by the Universidad del Valle Televisión.

She joined Noticias Caracol, first as a presenter on weekends and then Monday through Friday. She was in charge of other sections of the news, such as international and health news, together with Silvia Corzo.

She simultaneously created and directed an interview program in which the majority of Latin American leaders were protagonists: the program was called & # 34; Los Influyentes ”.

Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, Evo Morales, the Peruvian first lady Nadine Heredia, the painter Fernando Botero, the singer Carlos Vives, the Calle 13 Group, among others, went through the programming of Los Influyentes.

On October 14, 2015, he released his second work, Forgive the Unforgivable, with eighty true stories of people who have been victims of violence in Colombia and the steps they have taken to achieve peace, forgiveness and reconciliation.[citation needed]

The chronicles that make up Forgive the Unforgivable show the Colombian armed conflict ―whether victims or perpetrators― who transformed their tragedy into stories of inspiration through art, solidarity, sports, love; noble tools that with heroism their protagonists had renounced revenge.

Awards and recognitions

Received an award for his Professional Achievements from the Junior Chamber of Colombia, in Palmira.

Palacios was declared the Best News Presenter of Canal Caracol on two occasions and was selected by Fucsia magazine as one of the five Colombian Women of 2004.

Best Latin American journalist in 2009, by AS Chambers of Commerce of Latin America.

Awarded in Mexico with the "Best Company Lady" by CELSAM (Center for Latin American Studies for Women's Health) for her report on TV, about the prevention of adolescent pregnancy.

Simón Bolívar Award in 2014.

Nominated for the Emmy Awards from 2013 to 2015.

Personal life

He lives in Bogotá with his son Pablo Marín. She is a follower of the Deportivo Cali soccer team. [citation needed ]
