Claire Forlani
Claire Antonia Forlani (Middlesex, London, July 1, 1972) is a British film and television actress who became known for her outstanding performance in Do You Know Joe Black ? in 1998.
Biography
Forlani was born in Twickenham in London, England, the daughter of Barbara Dickinson, of English origin, and Pier Forlani, a music manager from Ferrara, Italy. At age eleven, Forlani entered the Arts Educational School in In London, in the six years that she stayed at the academy, she studied dance as well as acting, which opened the doors for her to later perform works such as The Nutcracker and Orpheus in the Underworld. Having acted on stage, British television signed her up for a TV series and a TV movie.
Forlani's parents wanted to help their daughter get movie roles, so they decided in 1993 to move to San Francisco, California. She soon got the first offer from the American film industry: she was selected that same year to appear in the television miniseries J. F. K.: Reckless Youth and then for the feature film Police Academy: Mission to Moscow.
Forlani then appeared in a few films, until in 1996 he participated in The Rock, starring Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage. A year later she finally earned critical acclaim for her portrayal in The Last Time I Committed Suicide, after having acted in mostly inconsequential films.
For her role in Meet Joe Black?, in which she co-starred with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, in 1998 she gained wide fame among American and international audiences.
She then worked on the series CSI: New York, as Dr. Peyton Driscoll, and more recently on the first season of the series Camelot playing the mother of the King Arthur, Lady Igraine.
Forlani was romantically related to actors Benicio del Toro, John Cusack (1997-1998), Ben Stiller and Brad Pitt (1998-1999). In June 2007, Forlani married actor Dougray Scott. Together they have a son, Milo Thomas Scott, born December 27, 2014.
