Synopsis

Bud (John Travolta) lives in a rural area and moves to Houston, Texas, to his uncle's house. He gets a job at a refinery. At night he goes to Gilley's nightclub, where he plays country music and where all the customers are dressed as cowboys. There he meets Sissy (Debra Winger), and they both fall in love and get married. A dark guy, Wes (Scott Glenn), notices Sissy and gets between her and Bud. He wants to have fun with Sissy and have her help him commit a nightclub robbery.
