Cilleros of the Bastide
Cilleros de la Bastida is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of Salamanca, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is integrated into the Sierra de Francia region and the sub-region of Las Quilamas. It belongs to the judicial district of Ciudad Rodrigo.
Its municipal area is made up of a single population center, it occupies a total area of 16.97 km² and according to the demographic data collected in the municipal register prepared by the INE in 2017, it has a population of 28 inhabitants.

According to the National Statistics Institute, as of December 31, 2018, Cilleros de la Bastida had a total population of 25 inhabitants, of whom 12 were men and 13 women. Regarding the year 2000, the census reflects 41 inhabitants, of which 21 were men and 20 women. Therefore, the loss of population in the municipality for the period 2000-2018 has been 16 inhabitants, a 39% decrease.
History
Its foundation is part of the repopulation process carried out by the kings of Leon in the Middle Ages in the Sierra de Francia. In this way, Cilleros became part of the district of Miranda del Castañar after its creation by King Alfonso IX of León in 1213 and with the creation of the current provinces in 1833, it was included in the province of Salamanca, within of the Leonese Region.
