Church of San Baudilio (San Baudilio de Llobregat)
Church of San Baudilio (Sant Baldiri in Catalan) located in the old town of San Baudilio de Llobregat (Barcelona), next to the river Llobregat.
The current church building is a Baroque-style building built between 1725 and 1752; work financed in its entirety by the parish priest Mosén Francisco Alberti. It was erected on top of an old Romanesque church, of which some remains still remain today. Apparently, the Romanesque church of San Baudilio had been built in the s. XI or XII, although the existence of a parish of Sant Baldiri is already documented in the s. X
From the church square you can see a panoramic view of the entire Llobregat delta and southern Barcelona. This church is also known as the Bajo Llobregat cathedral.
In it is the tomb of Rafael Casanova, a symbol of Catalan nationalism.
