Chronophilia is the term created by psychologist John Money to describe different sexual preferences classified as paraphilia in which age range or life status become a purpose of sexual attraction. Chronophilia is defined as one of a group of stigmatic paraphilias in which the paraphilic's sex-erotic age does not match his or her true chronological age and is consistent with the individual's age.

Etymology

The term chronophilia was coined by John Money, derived from the Greek roots -χρόνος (time, related to the character of Greek mythology who personified time: Chronos) and - φιλία (love, normally used to refer to deviations in sexual conduct). The term is currently rarely used.

Sexual preferences according to age ranges

Different types of chronophilia can be cataloged that describe different sexual preferences or deviations of sexual behavior within a large sociological spectrum of people of different gender, of different sexual orientation, also within different age ranges of the individual, different population extracts, of different purchasing power and a great variety of professions... without there being a clear trend or a common psychological profile.
