Christopher Pike
Christopher Pike is a fictional character from the science fiction franchise Star Trek; He is the immediate predecessor of James T. Kirk as captain of the starship USS Enterprise. He is portrayed by actor Jeffrey Hunter in the pilot episode of the series 'The Cage', Sean Kenney in Star Trek: The Original Series, Bruce Greenwood in the films Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, set on a line alternate temporal (Kelvin Line) and Anson Mount in the series Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which serve as prequels to the original series. In this latest interpretation, his character temporarily leaves the USS Enterprise to assume command of the USS Discovery.
The Original Series
Pike was the second captain of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), and was Captain James T. Kirk's predecessor. He carried out two exploration missions of five years each. For nine of those ten years, Mr. Spock was under his command.

Responding to a distress signal, the Enterprise arrives on the planet Talos IV, where a race of telepaths attempts to hold Pike captive by tricking him with mental illusions of a young girl named Vina. Finally, Pike manages to escape from her, but Vina decides to stay on Talos IV, since her youth and beauty were also an illusion created by the Talosians. Starfleet declares the planet in permanent quarantine.
These events are narrated in the pilot episode of the original series, which, despite having been produced in 1964, was only shown in full in 1988.

Star Trek (2009)
As a consequence of the actions of the villain Nero in the film Star Trek (2009), an alternative timeline is created where Christopher Pike is the first captain of the Enterprise and is the one who inspires and convinces James T. Kirk to enlist in Starfleet when he saw great conditions for the job.
On the Enterprise's first mission, Pike is captured by the villainous Nero, a renegade Romulan seeking to destroy the Federation. Kirk takes his place and with the help of Spock saves Earth, stops Nero and rescues Pike, who at the end of the film is promoted to admiral.
Star Trek in the Dark
After John Harrison blows up a Starfleet facility in London, an emergency council is called at Starfleet Command to discuss the attack.
At this meeting are Admiral Pike, Spock and Kirk, who warns that the attack was a decoy to bring together the high command at that meeting. At the moment Kirk makes this discovery, the villain appears on a ship shooting through the windows and killing many attendees, including Admiral Pike.
Star Trek: Discovery
At the end of the first season of the series, the USS Discovery, on its way to Vulcan to pick up its new captain, must respond to the emergency call of a Federation ship until then unidentified, but which, in the end, is recognized as the Enterprise.
