They're desperate to look like sweet, good girls, but then you see them in photo shoots that are extremely sexual – tight shorts and little else. So why are they trying to be virginal in interviews? In that same interview, Aguilera discussed the performance at the VMAs, suggesting that Spears didn't sing live: "Who knows what exactly happened? She was supposed to sing live. These people are not artists, they are just performers, false and superficial; like the event itself. Aguilera added that "Britney's kiss was a publicity stunt. Mine certainly wasn't rehearsed that way." In addition, Aguilera said that the original performance contemplated a joint kiss between the three, stating that "I was willing to kiss Britney, but she didn't want to. [Spears] seemed very distant, even during rehearsals. Whenever I tried to strike up a conversation with her – well, let's just say she seemed nervous the whole time. I wanted to reach out to her, because I feel like she needs someone in her life right now to guide her." At the end, Christina added: "Who knows, maybe I'm not the right person to help her. We are different people, aren't we? In the world there are different types of singers. You have your artists and you have your simple performers. I am an artist and, well...».

In the January/February 2004 issue of Blender magazine, Britney was interviewed, where she responded to Aguilera's comments: “I can't believe Christina said that about me. She makes me laugh, because after not seeing her in two years, she kisses me in a disco in front of all those people... I say "nice to see you"; and [Christina] says "well, youre not being true to me". And I'm like, 'Well, Christina, what's your definition of being authentic? Go up to girls and kiss them after two years without seeing them? A lost girl? It seems to me that you are the one who is lost"». Spears added: "When someone has been rude to you so many times, it's like, 'You know what, Christina? I'm not interested in pretending and all that shit anymore. You are scary and I feel very evil when I get close to you, I have to get out of here"".

In an interview with US Weekly magazine in August 2004, Aguilera criticized Britney after her wedding announcement to Kevin Federline, saying, "I can't believe that girl got married!" bought her own engagement ring! I've seen it up close, it looks like she bought it from the QVC teleshopping chain ». Christina continued: "I know Britney. She's not a bum, but she certainly acts that way."

Eminem

Shortly after the start of her artistic career, Aguilera was romantically linked by the press to Carson Daly, an MTV entertainer. The alleged couple made several headlines after the release of "The Real Slim Shady", a song from American rapper Eminem, which suggested that Aguilera was a "slut" who had been unfaithful to Carson with rock singer Fred Durst performing oral sex. However, during an interview, Aguilera cited the subject as "filthy", "disgusting" and "fake". A second response came with the release of the album Stripped with the song "Can't Hold Us Down", in which Aguilera referred to the rapper as a "macho", who gets his fame "dirty the name of others". In several interviews, Eminem explained that he insulted Christina because she, in the program "What a Girl Wants", revealed to the public that he was married without her consent. However, during the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, Eminem apologized to Aguilera and, according to the network, the problems between the artists ceased.

Pink

The singer Pink collaborated with Aguilera in "Lady Marmalade" and have had problems ever since.

During the promotion of the album Stripped, Aguilera became involved in conflicts with other artists. In 2003, she was mocked by singer Pink, who, during a performance of the song "Lady Marmalade", sang the single "Beautiful" while holding an inflatable doll resembling Aguilera. The performance was censored on the tour DVD, and caused controversy to arise regarding the collaboration that the author of "Beautiful" had with the two singers.

Kelly Osbourne

Also in 2003, recording artist Kelly Osbourne called Aguilera "one of the most hateful people in the world". The conflict between the two was further affected at the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony, where Osbourne said Aguilera looked like a "cow". However, a behind-the-scenes video of the awards surfaced online, showing Aguilera throwing darts at a photograph of Osbourne. Years later, in 2012, Obsurne assaulted Aguilera again on her Fashion Police show, where she hosts, mocking and arguing about Aguilera's overweight, but the singer never responded to Osbourne's insults. Months later, Osbourne again offended Aguilera, again the singer did not respond.

Mariah Carey

In 2006, for the release of the album Back to Basics, Aguilera gave an interview where she talked about singer Mariah Carey saying that "I was disappointed because [Mariah] wasn't a nice person to me... One time we were at a party and I thought [Mariah] was drunk, saying derogatory things about me, but it was around that time that [Mariah] had that nervous breakdown, so maybe [Mariah] was heavily medicated." However, Carey responded in an interview to Access Hollywood, citing that "I hope Christina is better now than she was the last time I saw her, when she invited herself to one of my parties and showed very questionable behaviour. It's both sad and predictable that [Christina] is using my name right now to reinvent past incidents and promote herself. She is in my heart to forgive and I will keep her in my prayers." Aguilera's response to Carey's comment was that "my intentions were not to upset Mariah. I didn't want the statements to be taken out of context. I have all the respect in the world for him."

Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton

Lady Gaga had conflicts at the beginning of her career with Aguilera, as both were compared by the press for their own styles.

Towards the end of 2008, comparisons were made between Aguilera's fashion sense and then-newcomer Lady Gaga, noting similarities in their style, hair and makeup. Gaga issued a statement in which she welcomed these comparisons, as such attention generated useful publicity for her. She said: "Christina Aguilera is a tremendous star and she should send her flowers, because a lot of people in America didn't know who I was until this happened. She really put me on the map, in a way."

The blogger Perez Hilton was involved in strong accusations against the album Bionic.

In mid-2010, after the release of the album Bionic (2010), strong accusations by the public and music critics accused Christina Aguilera of plagiarizing Lady Gaga, turning her against her by calling her as a new rival for Aguilera. For her part, it is believed and there were rumors about a conspiracy against the album that included people from the media such as blogger Perez Hilton, Lady Gaga, Interscope Records (Lady Gaga's label) and Akon (Gaga's producer and discoverer) to pull the album's songs from major radio stations in the United States. Later, a recording of the conspiracy came to light, but Gaga's name was never mentioned. Years later, in mid-August 2013, just around the time Lady Gaga released her new single "Applause", blogger Perez Hilton and Gaga had a near-public spat on Twitter, where Gaga lashed out at him; and he tweeted other hints about Lady Gaga commenting on some sabotage that the pop singer had carried out for some artists, commenting: "@ladygaga is not only #cruel to the people who worked for her, my friends, but she also tried to sabotage other artists", among other tweets. Immediately many people linked the event to the album Bionic and Christina Aguilera, the phrase "#GagaSabotagedBionic" being a global trend on Twitter at that time. After the public fight between Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton; The latter, days later, launched a campaign on his official Twitter account attaching an image from the Bionic era that came as the slogan "#JusticeForBionic" (in Spanish: Justicia para Bionic) and inviting to buy the album on iTunes on November 11 of the same year —the public called Perez Hilton a hypocrite for the event. At the same time, the phrase & #34;JusticeForBionic" It became the global topic of the moment in the aforementioned social network. On November 11, the album reached position 40 on iTunes Colombia, 35 in Italy, 15 in Mexico, 25 in Brazil and 2 in Costa Rica. Thus, the JusticeForBionic Project became a complete success, as it quickly re-entered the iTunes charts, debuting at number 91 worldwide three years after its release. On September 17, 2013, these conflicts between Gaga and Aguilera ended in the finale of the program The Voice —where Christina Aguilera served as the main judge— where they both performed together to perform "Do What U Want". of Lady Gaga at the end of the presentation. Said presentation was classified as the best of the night, in addition to comparing it with Aguilera's famous presentation at the MTV Awards with Britney Spears and Madonna. Today, this issue is still relevant and after almost a decade of the album's release, the phrase "JusticeForBionic" is still shared.
