Charlie Bell (November 7, 1960 – January 17, 2005) was an Australian businessman who served as CEO of McDonald's.

Biography

He began his career at the age of 15 working part-time with McDonald's in Sydney, Australia, and at the age of 19 he became the youngest store manager in his country. At 27 he was already vice president and at 29 he was appointed to the board of directors of McDonald's in Australia. In April 2004, he was named CEO of McDonald's. He was the first non-US citizen to lead this multinational.

He died in Sydney at the age of 44 from colon cancer diagnosed in May 2004. Charlie Bell only spent 20 months as chief executive because he decided to step down in November of the same year. his position to focus all his efforts on fighting cancer.
