Central asturian
The Central Asturian is considered the model of written language and, theoretically, is the one with the majority of speakers of the Asturian language, although other linguists affirm that Western Asturian is the one with the most speakers, as well as being larger and, than in Asturias, it is the one that has remained the most invariable over time.
Features
- It preserves the Latin "f-" in front of the eastern one that aspires it: fame, fumu (ast or. ḥame, ḥumu)
- Decreasing diptongos are monoptongated: Something, carpinteru
- The plural females are made with -"is": les cases, les vaques
- Diptongation of "or" only: door
- Palatalization, like the rest of the Asturleonian, of the initial Latin "l" similar to the Catalan: ♪, ♪.

In some regions of Asturias (fundamentally Carreño, Gozón, Mieres, Lena, Aller, Riosa, Morcín and partially Langreo) a phenomenon formerly more widespread throughout the entire linguistic domain, which is metaphony, is preserved, although in clear decline. vowel, consisting of the fact that the closed timbre of the final vowel causes the closing of the previous syllable, producing A > E (also A > O), E > I and O > U. This metaphony, as is logical, is only produced by the masculine singular: guetu (or also gotu), gata, gatos, gates; pirru, bitch, dogs, dogs; utru, another, others, others.
