Carlos Roberto Baute Jiménez (Caracas; March 8, 1974) is a Venezuelan singer -songwriter, actor and presenter - Spanish. At thirteen years he belonged to the boyband Los Chamos and subsequently followed his musical studies of singing, guitar and piano.

Biography

Early years

Carlos Baute was born in Caracas, on March 8, 1974. He is the son of Alfonso Baute De Porras and Clara Jiménez.

He has Canarian roots because his father, grandparents and great-grandparents were born in Tenerife, Canary Islands and La Hiniesta in Zamora, respectively. On his mother's side, his Galician great-grandparents came to Cuba fleeing the war, where his grandparents were born. The arrival of Fidel Castro to power made them flee to Venezuela, from where they also left for Spain when Chávez came to power.

From a young age he expressed a taste not only for music but for the arts in general, liking acting, singing and composing songs.

True to his interests, at the age of thirteen, he started in the musical group Los Chamos, with which he managed to record the album Con un poco de amor, it was his first musical project that enjoyed great acceptance and made various types of commercials. Then, she began working as a model and released her first album as a solo artist, called Orígenes I in 1994 and explored acting, participating in the Venezuelan soap opera Destino de mujer (1997) playing Pedro José, a swimming teacher.

Musical career

1994-1999: First recording works

It was published in 1994 Orígenes I and in 1996 Orígenes 2 drums, these 2 fusion productions of Venezuelan folklore achieving their first 2 platinum records. In 1999 he published the album I was born to want... his third production, which was decisive in Carlos Baute's career, since it was the first time he participated as a producer with the Venezuelan Yasmil Marrufo, but it represented even more than that, because with it, he finally managed to deal a first blow to the international scene, being his third project as a soloist and the one that gave him automatic success, certifying a multi-platinum album with sales of more than 500 000 physical copies, a fact that allowed him to open his horizons and project himself in other territories including Spain, thus having what was required to begin the launch of an international career, taking his first step by moving to his recently conquered new market, Spain, making this country your parent, as the center of your career.

The album became Baute's biggest success up to then. It was then that Baute made his debut as a composer by writing the renowned song Te quie vivir, which was performed by the youth band MDO, beginning from there his stage as a singer-songwriter. He then joined EMI Publishing.

2000-2007: Give me that, Dangerous and Baute

In 2000 Carlos Baute chose Spain as his second home to continue his musical career. In 2001, he released his fourth solo album Dame de eso produced by Emilio Estefan and published in 2002 in the American edition throughout Latin America. In Spain it got a platinum record.

In 2004, he became part of Warner Music and published his fifth album Peligroso, composing all the songs on the album himself. It was produced in Los Angeles by Chilean Humberto Gatica.

In 2005, he recorded the sixth album in Madrid titled Baute together with producer Carlos Quintero, certifying platinum status in Spain. Where hits like Te gift are found. Central theme in the soundtrack of the Chilean soap opera Versus. He participated in television series such as Ala... Dina! (TVE), My adorable neighbors (Antena 3) and presentations such as Miss Spain Gala, IB3 Gala or TVE1's New Year's Eve Gala.

2008: In my handwriting, the definitive boom

On April 1, 2008, his album De mi fisto y letra was released, which was accompanied by a summer tour through Spain and Latin American countries. On November 17, 2008, the song "Hanging in your hands" was published as a duet with Marta Sánchez, this being the central single from the album De mi fisto y letra, achieving 27 number ones in Promusicae and 7 number ones in The Top 40. This single was one of the best-selling singles in the history of Spain and Latin America, reaching first place in Colgando en tus mano singles for more than 12 weeks in a row and the first positions in Latin American countries and the United States. It was #1 on iTunes in Spain for more than 45 consecutive weeks and #1 on Spanish radio for more than 43 weeks. In my handwriting it went platinum in Mexico, Venezuela, Spain; gold record in Argentina, Colombia and multi-platinum record in Spain and Argentina.

The album includes the collaboration with Franco De Vita in the song "Nothing compares to you." On September 1, 2009 she published in Spain Directo en tus manos with the concert held in Madrid on June 25 singing with Marta Sánchez, Nek, Álex Ubago and Pastora Soler.

2011: Loving you well

Amarte bien arrived in 2010, recorded in Mexico with the production of Juan Carlos Moguel (also producer of the previous album De mi fisto y letra) and Baute himself. It is his eighth album. During the 2 years of promotional tour for the previous album De mi fisto y letra he composed more than 40 songs for this album between planes, hotels, dressing rooms, interviews, concerts... finally choosing only 12 songs (10 in physical edition and 12 in digital edition). Armando Ávila participated in the composition of 2 songs: "I dream of being able to find you" and "Loquitos de amor".

As a single he released "Who loves you like me." It reached the top 6 of Billboard magazine's Latin Pop Songs, staying on the list for 19 weeks. The single "Amarte bien" spent 7 weeks on Latin Pop Songs in the Top 30. The single "Amarte bien" surpassed 12 million official reproductions in streaming and more than 1 million contents digital in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. The album Amarte bien achieved gold status in Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela. During the 2011 Viña del Mar Festival he got the silver torch. The single “Who loves you like me” was in the top 10 in Mexico for more than 5 months. Three singles from the album Amarte bien they manage to be at the same time in the top 30 of the General Radio Chart in Argentina: "Your body dancing in my body" #9, "Amarte bien" #13 and "Who loves you like me" #29.

In 2010 he was chosen as one of the 50 most beautiful Latinos in the American magazine People en Español. In 2011 he was the guest artist at the 9th Gala Yo canto i> Telemundo in Puerto Rico. That same year, he published the remix "Amarte bien" with Juan Magán. Likewise, he sold out the 2 concerts that Carlos Baute performed in March at the Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires. In 2012, he collaborated with Rasel, recording the video "You put me tender", receiving the gold record for digital sales. Theme included in the album Un poco más by Carlos Baute published in Argentina compiling greatest hits from previous albums and remixes.

2013: In the mailbox of your heart

In October 2013, with the Colombian producer Andrés Castro (known for working with artists like Carlos Vives) the album En el mailbox of your heart arrives, strengthening his style as a great Latin singer-songwriter and continuing with his musical career at an international level. The presentation song that gives its name to the album "En el mailbox of your heart" is autobiographical, mixing reality and fiction to tell how the relationship with his partner was born.

In March 2014, Carlos Baute was invited as part of the jury of the program in Spain A Bailar, reality produced by Endemol and broadcast on Antena 3 in prime time. Subsequently, Baute was part of the jury table for a similar reality in Mexico Dancing for a Dream. Recording began in April 2014, airing on Sundays in primetime until July 2014. At the same time that he is participating in the 2 television programs, the second single "How to Say No" is released with the Mexican singer María José in Spain and Latin America. In May 2014, he began the concert tour of Spain to later continue through Mexico and more countries in Latin America. In 2014 he published the remix "En el buzón de tu corazón" with Danny Romero.

In October 2015, the new single "Perdimos el control" produced together with Juanma Leal and Luis Bustamante was released digitally. 2019: Of love and pain

In February 2019, De amor y dolor, their new album, was released, which highlights the urban style with which many of the songs are presented. The beginning of the album began with the first single in 2016, "Amor y dolor", which was done with the collaboration of Alexis & Fido. In 2017, she presented two singles: «AndoBusca» with Piso 21, and «Vamo & # 39; to the street" which had a second version with Chyno Miranda.

In 2018, two new singles were released: "Who is that?", which featured the participation of Maite Perroni and Juhn; and "I still think about you" which she did with Marta Sánchez. The latter became one of the most popular songs on the album due to Sánchez's participation in said song, since both worked together on "Colgando en tus manos" after 10 years.

At the beginning of 2019, the rest of the songs were presented as singles, highlighting "Buy minutes" and "Perdido", which feature the participation of Farina and Joey Montana respectively.

Personal life

In 1989, at the age of 15, she had her first child, José Daniel. In 2011, after a year of dating, he married Astrid Klisans Vitols, a Venezuelan architect and model of Latvian origin, born on October 29, 1984. The couple has a son named Markuss who was born on July 22, 2016 and 2 daughters: Liene who was born on December 12, 2017 and Álisse who was born on July 29, 2019.
