Contenido The carcharhiniformes (Carcharhiniformes) are an order of selacimorphic elasmobranchs, the dominant one in the global shark fauna, with around 197 known species. They are very common in tropical waters, they are also found in temperate waters, and some species, in deep waters.
The typical carcarriniforme has an elongated snout, a large mouth that exceeds the eye, an anal fin and two spineless dorsal fins. The lower eyelid constitutes a nictitating membrane activated by special muscles. The teeth vary from small and pointed or flattened, to large and blade-shaped. They lack lower crushing teeth.
