The Capital Governorate (Arabic: محافظة العاصمة‎; Muhafazat al-'Asimah) is one of the five governorates of Bahrain, and in it is the capital of the country, Manama. The current governor is Sheikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa.

Training

The Capital Governorate was formed as a result of a Royal Decree of 3 July 2002 and includes the former municipalities of Al Manamah, Ras Rumman and part of Jidd Haffs.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census data, there are 329,510 inhabitants in this governorate, of which 261,921 correspond to citizens of non-Bahraini origin and the remaining 67,589 are Bahraini citizens; By sex, the population is divided into 104,479 women and 225,031 men.

Regarding the housing census, there are a total of 45,109 dwellings in the governorate divided into 34,868 flats, 7,284 private villas and 1,352 conventional houses or villas.
