Broadway Danny Rose

Broadway Danny Rose is a 1984 Woody Allen mob parody film that pays homage to stand-up comedians. > (who stand in front of an audience, in clubs or bars, to do their act), since the filmmaker himself began his career that way. The tape is filmed in black and white.

With sequences full of action, chases and physical humor, in addition to the indispensable presence of notable stand-up comedians, Allen tells the story of Danny Rose, a decadent artist manager who finds himself entangled in trouble with the mafia due to the affairs of his best client. The film is a sample of the filmmaker's ability to create comic situations, and a clear example is the helium leak in a chase that involves the main character and certain gangsters: everyone's voice is distorted to the point of caricature because of the gas.
