Bragi Ólafsson (Reykjavik, Iceland, August 11, 1962) is an Icelandic writer and musician.

Ólafsson was first known for his work as bassist for the Sugarcubes, an innovative pop band from Iceland that brought Björk to fame, who successfully pursued a solo dance-pop career.

The Sugarcubes, who favored unusual melodies, got together in 1986, right on the day that Björk gave birth to their son Sindri. But before the group was formed, the members of the Sugarcubes had already played in different groups. Ólafsson and Einar Örn Benediksson (trumpet/vocals) had released albums under Benediktsson's Gramm records label.

Ólafsson had become a poet upon beginning his work with the Sucarcubes. He is the author of several collections of poems, plays and novels, among them his novel Las mascotas has been translated into Spanish. He is one of the most important writers in Iceland.
