Boys Be...
Boys Be (ボーイズ・ビー Bōizūbī?) is an anime series published in 2000 by Hal Film Maker in 13 episodes, broadcast in Spain in 2002 on the Buzz channel and in Catalonia on the K3 channel.
It is based on the story of the original manga, written by Masahiro Itabashi and illustrated by Hiroyuki Tamakoshi. Kōdansha published it in three volumes, serialized in Shukan Shonen Magazine. The series was distributed in Spain by Jonu Media.
Argument
The anime focuses on the joys and sorrows of first love and teenage romance. Six students struggle to find the perfect partner and their teenage limitations. While several characters were taken from the manga's story, the anime's story has no relation to it.
Each episode begins and ends with a philosophical quote that summarizes the content of the episode. Boys Be, stars Kyoichi and Chiharu in the manga, while in the anime, it revolves around seven or eight main characters and their love lives (with Kyoichi and Chiharu included).

Short description
In the series Boys Be... the joys, sadnesses and feelings in general of first loves and teenage romance are shown.
The story revolves around its six protagonists, three boys: Kyoichi Kanzaki, Yoshihiro Kenjo and Makoto Kurumizawa, each of them completely different from the other, but still, inseparable friends; and three girls: Chiharu Nitta, Yumi Kazama and Aki Mizutani whose tastes are as different as their personalities; and tells its stories of an entire year, divided into the four seasons. These six students fight in search of their soul mate. Their only enemies are usually the limits of adolescence.
Each episode begins and ends with a philosophical quote (said by Kyoichi himself) that, foolishly, ends up summarizing the concept of the same episode. At first it seems that the series focuses on Kyoichi and Chiharu, when he stops seeing Chiharu as his childhood friend, but as a girl. But the other characters also end up being protagonists.
