Box with built-in grid
This is the name given to the corrugated cardboard box that contains a cardboard or cardboard grid. The built-in grid is used to individualize glass jars or bottles, traditionally used in boxes for six and twelve bottles of wine.
The most common manufacturing method is based on a traditional flap box into which the grid is inserted. For this, two machines are used: a grating assembly machine and a grating incorporating machine. The latter applies a few drops of glue (hot melt) to the structure that allows the grid to be glued to the box at two points. The packer receives the box flat, being able to fill it by hand or in automatic packaging lines.
The grid can also come from the same plate by structural design and be formed in a folder-gluer.
Some folding machines with several glue points allow the grid to be formed inside from a structural extension of the box. In this case, the grid is automatically formed when the packaging is opened.
