Sacha Baron Cohen characterized as Borat

Borat Margaret Sagdiyev (Cyrillic: Борат Сагдиев) is a fictional British television character played by Sacha Baron Cohen. His adventures take place in the United Kingdom and the United States. Although he claims to be from Kazakhstan.

Character

Borat claims to be the second most famous journalist in Kazakhstan. He works for Kazakhstani TV, and he visits USA to record and learn about their political system and culture from him. Thus begins his film, which basically seeks to criticize the most traditional and deepest American values, in addition to judging his vision of his world.

He usually greets by saying "Jak sie masz?" (How are you?, in Polish). Her hobbies include table tennis, sunbathing, disco dancing, and looking at pictures of naked women.

Character Origin

Sacha Baron Cohen says he was inspired by himself to create Borat's aesthetic.

Family

Borat was born in Kuçzek, Kazakhstan on February 27, 1972. He is the son of Hassan Sagdiyev and Boltok The Rapist. He is the widower of Oksana Sagdiyeva, who was the daughter of Mariam Tuyakbay and Boltok El Violador.

Borat has a sister named Natalya, who is seen as the fourth best prostitute in Kazakhstan. She also has a young brother named Bilo, who is mentally retarded and must be kept in a cage. Bilo also has a bag where he stores all the porn he has. In an interview, Borat assures: "My brother Bilo has a small brain but very strong arms, he has 204 teeth (193 in his mouth and 11 in his nose)!" You can do anything with him - he doesn't remember anything! He's a sex freak... all day, in his cage, he checks his porn and rub rub rub!'

Borat has been married several times. He is open. His first wife was Oksana Sagdiyeva, a half-sister of his, raped and killed in 2006 by a bear, while she accompanied her brother-in-law Bilo on a walk in the forest. Borat was seriously affected by that event, which he subsequently celebrated, and was able to buy a new wife of thirteen years, who did not pretend to be boring. Borat has extramarital affairs with: a girlfriend, a lover, and at least one prostitute. He features a gypsy boy named Vassilli who trims his mustache and cleans his anus.

Borat has 3 children: Bilak and Biram (whose mother is Borat's sister Natalya), aged 12; and 13-year-old Hooeylewis (her favorite son of hers), as well as 17 grandchildren.

Borat brought his son, Huey Lewis, and his wife to England in an attempt to sell their child to a so-called 'transvestite'; named Madonna.

Beliefs

Borat denigrates Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and women.

He hates and is terrified of Jews (it's safe to say that Cohen is Jewish). He also has a macho attitude towards women, such as he was surprised to learn that women can vote in America or study in England. For him, the range of importance is this: "God, man, horse, dog, woman, rat, and those little critters that crawl on the ground," all stated while speaking to an American voter, accompanying a Republican party candidate.

Borat sometimes finds himself in embarrassing situations because of his anti-Semitism and machismo. Like the one in which she enters asking what is the best weapon to kill a Jew, and the clerk without flinching tells her that a 9 mm. At a meeting with a feminist group, she says it's ridiculous that women can get an education because they have brains the size of squirrels. With a car salesman, he questions him about whether the Hummer he supposedly intends to buy would suffer any kind of damage from running over a group of gypsies, to which the salesman bluntly replies that it would depend on the speed with which he hit the gypsies. In a roundup he affirms that homosexuals are hanged in his country, to which a cowboy affirms that there too many would like to do the same, in that same roundup he commits the impertinence of saying that he supports the "war on terror"; of the North Americans and literally says "that George Bush drink the blood of every man, woman and child in Iraq". Which receives a euphoric reaction from the public present as a sign of support and begins to sing an ignominious supposed Kazakh anthem to the sound of the music of the Star Spangled Banner (American anthem), a situation that led him to have to escape from there running before the furious public reaction.

Controversy

Borat has caused political trouble, as the Kazakh embassy sent a letter to HBO calling for Sacha Baron Cohen to be fired. On the other hand, in Germany, the European Center for the Study of Antiziganism in Hamburg filed a complaint for incitement to racial hatred against the actor and the producer Twentieth Century Fox, Home Entertainment Germany, among others. In Russia and other republics of the extinct USSR, the film has been banned, fearing civil strife due to such a horrendous vision of Kazakhstan. However, it was shot in a remote Romanian gypsy village posing as a supposed village in Kazakhstan named Kuzek.
