Bladder tenesmus
bladder urgency or urinary urgency is an imperious desire to urinate that forces you to do it constantly, resulting in an unpleasant experience for the patient and forcing you to go to the bathroom to urinate without getting it.
It is usually accompanied by frequency and other symptoms of voiding syndrome. Urgency even appears after urinating, even in a large amount, despite having an empty urinary bladder.
Urinary urgency is a reflection of irritation on the mucosa of the urinary bladder or urethra, typical of a urinary infection or an obstruction of the lower urinary tract such as prostate hypertrophy or prostate cancer, as well as in the acute bacterial prostatitis. It is also experienced when the pH of the urine is alkaline and with the taking of some medications such as lithium.
