Bermuda flag

AjustarCompartirImprimirCitar

The flag of Bermuda was adopted on October 4, 1910. It is based on the British Red Ensign with the Union Jack in the canton and the coat of arms of Bermuda in the outer half of the flag.

This flag is considered unusual for the colonies of the British Empire due to the use of the Red Ensign to the detriment of the Blue Ensign, used in most colonial flags and which still persists, for example, in the flag of Australia and in New Zealand. Only Canada, South Africa and India (British Raj) used the Red Ensign during their colonial period. At present, only Bermuda among the existing British Overseas Territories uses it.
