Basandere (in Basque: "Lady of the Forests") is a being from Basque mythology, the feminine version of the basajaun. It is said that she can be found at the entrance to the caves.

According to legend, at the entrance to the cave located at the top of Mount Mondarrain, a basandere usually combs her hair with a gold comb.
