Barbadillo
Barbadillo is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of Salamanca, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is integrated within the region of Campo de Salamanca (Campo Charro). It belongs to the judicial district of Salamanca.
Its municipal area is made up of the towns of Barbadillo and Castrejón, as well as the uninhabited Carrascalino, Gejo de Doña Mencía, Muñovela and Valverde de Valmuza. It occupies a total area of 36.10 km² and, according to the demographic data collected in the municipal register prepared by the INE in 2017, it has a population of 414 inhabitants.
History
Its foundation dates back to the repopulation carried out by the kings of León in the Middle Ages, being integrated into the bathroom of the jurisdiction of Salamanca, within the Kingdom of León, then called Barvadiello With the creation of the current provinces in 1833, Barbadillo was included in the province of Salamanca, within the Leonese Region.
Geography
Integrated in the region of Campo de Salamanca, it is located 23 kilometers from the provincial capital. The municipal term is crossed by the Autovía de Castilla (A-62) between kilometer points 257 and 258, as well as by the local road that allows communication with Rollán. The relief of the municipality is predominantly flat, with some isolated elevations such as Cerro Rompio (841 meters) and Peñitas (890 meters). The altitude oscillates between 890 meters (Peñitas hill) and 800 meters to the north. The town rises to 808 meters above sea level.

The exclave of Gejo de Doña Mencía borders Carrascal de Barregas, Calzada de Don Diego and San Pedro de Rozados.
The exclave of Valverde de Valmuza borders Carrascal de Barregas, Aldeatejada and San Pedro de Rozados.
The town gives its name to the Barbadillo y Calzada Station, a railway station located in the municipality of Calzada de Don Diego.
