Barbadian dollar
The Barbadian dollar (in English: Barbadian dollar) is the national currency of Barbados, an island country located in the Caribbean. Its ISO 4217 code is "BBD". One dollar is divided into 100 cents (¢).
The Barbados dollar was created following the establishment of the Central Bank of Barbados (CBB), founded by Order of the Parliament of Barbados in May 1972. Before this Barbados and other islands in the eastern Caribbean Sea were under the authority of the East Caribbean Currency Authority (ECCA) and whose currency was the East Caribbean dollar. It has a fixed exchange rate of 2:1 with the US dollar since 1975.
Many of the coins in circulation in Barbados have been minted by the Royal Canadian Mint.
