Babylon (Arabic: بابل) is one of the eighteen governorates that make up the republic of Iraq. Its capital is Hilla. Located in the center of the country, it limits to the north with Baghdad and Diala, Wasit, to the south with Mutana and Najaf, and to the west with Kerbala and Ambar. With 5,603 km², it is the third smallest governorate — ahead of Kerbala and Baghdad, the least extensive — and with 325 inhabitants/km², the second most densely populated, behind Baghdad.

The ruins of Babylon (Babil, name from which the province comes) are found in this province.
