Aphanelytrum is a monotypic genus of herbaceous plants belonging to the Poaceae family. Its only species: Aphanelytrum procumbens Hack., It is native to western tropical South America in the Andes where it is found in humid montane forest in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia.

Taxonomy

Aphanelytrum procumbens was described by Eduard Hackel and published in Oesterreichische Botanische Zeitschrift 52: 13, text f. 1902.
