Antediluvians

In the fictional universe World of Darkness and specifically in the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade, the antediluvians are vampires who are more direct descendants of Cain and are the third generation that was created, the ones that are supposed to be the predecessors of all the vampires in the game. Their bloodlines form the initial generations of the original clans: the vampires in each clan are direct descendants of the same antediluvian, and possess the same curses as their creator. These curses have their origin in the customs of the antediluvian, or were imposed by Cain after the destruction of the second generation. Initially there were thirteen antediluvians, but in addition to those that are supposed to have been destroyed in the universal flood, others arose, which are called antediluvians because they are also of the third generation.

The facts about each antediluvian may vary depending on each bit of information found in all the World of Darkness supplements. The closing supplement, Gehenna, provides the location and name; in addition to several possible meta-plots, but the information from the rest of the official books is also useful when planning games.
