Otro rollo was a Mexican variety and comedy show that was broadcast live at Televisa studios on Tuesday nights (in Mexico), hosted by Adal Ramones.

This late night show began on May 12, 1995 in the city of Puebla and was originally recorded at the facilities of what is now Megacable; on Saturday afternoons, broadcasting it on Televisa's Unicable channel (for cable television) and had a small, low-budget studio.

Due to the great success it had in its early years, it became part of the prime programming of Channel 5 on open television on May 4, 1999, and was assigned a more important studio within the Televisa facilities. In the United States it was broadcast on a delayed basis on the Univisión network. On Tuesday May 8, 2007 and after 12 years on the air, the broadcasts of the program ended. Another Rollo usually began with a monologue, followed by segments such as the "Humorous Sketch", among others. The musical shows were also present in the program, which covered a good part of the effective transmission time, since most of the singers who attended were of a recognized level, both nationally (Mexican) and internationally.

The end of the show

The program was broadcast for the last time on May 8, 2007 live from Televisa studios as it normally had. The driver argued that he had a proposal for a new television series produced by Televisa which would be entitled, And now what do I do? in which Adal Ramones would be the protagonist. The series was not very successful and only had one season, it did not get as many viewers as Otro Rollo, since that was not the most liked type of program for young people and adolescents.

On the night of Tuesday, May 8, 2007, the closest date the program Otro Rollo turned 12, it was broadcast for the last time live from studio 6 of Televisa San Ángel. The last program had the presence of personalities such as the president of the Televisa group Emilio Azcárraga Jean, Joaquín López-Dóriga who linked to the program from his newscast for the entire Mexican Republic on channel 5 and Canal de las Estrellas. In addition, a phone call with the then President of the Mexican Republic, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, who thanked the driver for having given Mexican families moments of fun.

The last show looked back on the past 20 greatest moments, introduced the shows that would occupy the time slot, and also paid tribute to deceased celebrities who were once in the studio. Adal Ramones could not contain his tears, Mauricio Castillo, Yordi Rosado and Lalo Suárez accompanied him until the last moments of the popular program.

Gaby Platas and Consuelo Duval were the only former members of the cast of Otro Rollo who did not attend the end of the program.

After more than four hours of broadcast, the entire cast one by one went up the stairs that they once went down and their photo in the studio went out as they left the studio. On the early morning of Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 02:19 minutes, the lights of Televisa forum 6 went out after Adal Ramones said goodbye and with this an end to Otro Rollo after almost 12 years of uninterrupted transmissions.

Possible return to television

Thirteen weeks after the Otro Rollo program stopped broadcasting, it was already being thought that it could return to television again for about a year. This is because Televisa executives met with Adal Ramones to analyze the possibility of him returning with the program. However, his television series & # 34; And now what do I do? & # 34; that he himself stars in does not fill, and it was not his function, the space that remained after Otro Rollo stopped broadcasting. The driver says he is prepared for new projects but that Otro Rollo is also part of his life.

On June 24, 2008, Adal Ramones confirmed that the nightly broadcast "Otro rollo" would return with a new format and more surprises. Although he did not say anything about details, it was speculated that Otro Rollo would return in early or mid-2010, however, the series did not return to the air at the time declared by Adal Ramones, leaving the matter in doubt. It was thought that he would return in September due to the popularity of the South African World Cup. Later, Adal confirmed that Otro Rollo would not return, to spend more time with his family and say that a new series will come. However, in February 2011, Ramones confirmed that the broadcast would return in November or December of the same year. So far, only Adal Ramones and Yordi Rosado have participated. In the program & # 34; Do not tell anyone & # 34;, Adal Ramones stated that he would return at the end of 2012.

In mid-2012, the driver claimed the project had "stuck" due to the selection of the cast and not a monetary matter, arguing that this had already been arranged with the Televisa producers, and that the return of the program was planned for the first quarter of 2013. Ramones highlighted that social networks such as Facebook and Twitter will play an important role in the new season, especially in the monologues that are planned to be live again.

In March 2014, the Ramones confirmed that the show "Otro Rollo" He would not return to television, however he would return with a new talk show that same year, which would begin airing after the 2014 Soccer World Cup.

In September 2015, Adal Ramones returns with a late night show type program, which is broadcast once a month on Channel 2. This program was a resounding failure, since it was far from the quality that Other showed one day Roll.

In 2018, an event occurred that changed the direction of a possible return of the program, as Adal Ramones arrived at TV Azteca and was presented as the new host of La Academia on his return to the reality show after a few years of absence. Later he would be part of the jury of Mexico Has Talent at the beginning of 2019. In September, a few months after he will return with La Academia, he published some photos with Yordi Rosado, Mauricio Castillo, Gaby Platas, Roxana Castellanos, Eduardo España and Consuelo Duval in a Polanco restaurant. Many followers of these conductors speculate that the program was going to return, however Adal and Yordi denied them, but they also said that they were preparing a big surprise.

Memorable facts of the program
