Division of Libya into 99 municipalities or baladiyas as of 2012-2013:

In 2012, after the fall of Gaddafi, the National General Congress adopted Law 59 of 2012, which introduced a new administrative division, which returns to the name of baladiyas or < i>baladiyah. On the basis of this Law, in 2013, 99 Baladiyah or baladiyas, (municipalities) were established, a number that has subsequently been increased, reaching -apparently- 124 in 2018.
