Contenido The province of Las Palmas is made up of the islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Graciosa. This province is made up of 34 municipalities. The most populated municipality is Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the least populated is Betancuria on the island of Lanzarote. The largest municipality is San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the smallest is Firgas, both on the island of Gran Canaria. The first municipality created was Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (1478).
