There are a total of 8131 municipalities in Spain. The northernmost municipality is Mañón (La Coruña), the southernmost is El Pinar de El Hierro (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), the westernmost is La Frontera (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and the easternmost is Mahón (Balearic Islands). Likewise, the largest is Cáceres and the smallest is Lugar Nuevo de la Corona (Valencia); according to the official Padrón.
