The Goya Awards were created by the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in 1986.

The following list shows the list of all the winners of the Goya Award for Best Supporting Female Performance since the first edition of 1986.

The actresses who have obtained the greatest number of Goya awards for "best supporting female performance" are Verónica Forqué, María Barranco, Rosa María Sardà and Candela Peña, with 2 awards each, but only the first got them consecutive (in the first two editions of the award).

Penelope Cruz is the only actress who has won an Oscar and a Goya for the same role: María Elena in Vicky Cristina Barcelona

The only performer who has won Goya awards for "best lead performance", "best supporting performance" and "best newcomer" is the actress Laia Marull, who won the award for best newcomer in 2000 for Fugitivas, the award for best leading female performance in 2003 for Te doy mis ojos, and the award for best supporting female performance in 2010 for Pa black.

The actresses who have won the Goya award for "best leading female performance" and "best supporting female performance" are: Verónica Forqué, Candela Peña, Carmen Maura, Penélope Cruz, Laia Marull, Emma Suárez, Nathalie Poza and Nora Navas.

Verónica Forqué and Emma Suárez are the only performers who have obtained the Goya awards for "best lead performance" and "best supporting performance" in the same edition, Forqué in the second edition of 1987, for La vida alegre and by Moros y Cristianos respectively, and Suárez in the XXXI edition of 2016 by Julieta and by La próxima piel respectively.

In the IX edition of the 1994 Goya Awards for the film Días contados, the actress Ruth Gabriel was nominated for the "best leading role" and "best revelation" for the same role. and the actress Candela Peña the candidacy for the "best supporting role" and the "best revelation".
