Anne Archer (Los Angeles, California, August 24, 1947) is an American film, theater and television actress.

Biography

Her parents were actors, which had a strong influence on her as a child. She studied drama and landed a role in the 1970 film The All-American Boy, starring Jon Voight.

Archer went to live in New York, where he performed a play in 1981. It was thanks to this that she finally got offers of greater interest. One of the films in which she was involved, and which was a huge box office success, was Fatal Attraction , with Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. For her role as the wife of a cheating husband, she earned an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. In 1992 she was nominated again, for her performance in Patriot Games, starring Harrison Ford.

Another film to which Archer owes his popularity is Narrow Margin, in which he shares the leading roles with Gene Hackman. Despite this, Archer refers in interviews to Mojave Moon (directed by Kevin Dowling in 1996 ) and Dark Summer as films she is most proud of for her performance.

In addition to acting, Archer has written and produced a few films, such as Waltz Acroos Texas, in 1982.

Television

Archer has also found success on television, where he has made numerous movies and miniseries. She has stood out, among others, in the role of Lenore Pieszecki in the series The L Word (2004). Another of the series in which she worked, along with Danny DeVito, was It Was Always Philadelphian (2006).

Theater

In the theater he has performed roles in interpretation and in production.

She worked on the world premiere of The Poison Tree at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, and on the Williamson Theater Festival production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

She also played the title role of Mrs. Robinson in The Graduate in London's West End.

Archer's New York stage debut was as Maude Mix in the Off-Broadway production of A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking by John Ford Noonam.

Personal life

In 1969, Anne Archer married William Davis, divorcing in 1977. In 1979 she married a second time, to Terry Jastrow. She has a son from each marriage.
