Contenido André Michel Lwoff (Ainay-le-Château, Allier, May 8, 1902 - Paris, September 30, 1994) was a French biologist and physician of Russian-Polish origin.
In 1962 he introduced a taxonomy of viruses.
He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1965, along with François Jacob and Jacques L. Monod, awarded for their discoveries on regulatory activities inside cells.
