Andoni Iraola
Andoni Iraola Sagarna (Usúrbil, Guipúzcoa, June 22, 1982) is a Spanish former footballer and coach who manages AFC Bournemouth of the Premier League.
As a footballer, he played mainly as a right back for the First Division Athletic Club between 2003 and 2015 and, in 2016, he finished his career at New York City F.C. of the MLS alongside David Villa, Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard. In 2017 he began his career as a coach in the Antiguoko youth ranks.
Career

He trained in the youth ranks of the Antiguoko KE in San Sebastián until he arrived at the youth Athletic Club in 1999, thanks to the agreement between Athletic Club and the San Sebastián club. Athletic Club
In 2003 he became part of the Athletic Club first team, coached by Ernesto Valverde, after two years at Bilbao Athletic. At the end of March, Iraola rejected the renewal offer that Athletic presented him and confirmed that he would not continue in the club, since his idea was to go to the United States to play in the MLS, thus following the example of other footballers such as David Villa or the former red and white Aitor Karanka. During his American journey he acted as a defensive midfielder, forming a high-level midfield alongside Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard. AEK Larnaca
In May 2018 he took charge of AEK Larnaca, thanks to the presence of a former teammate like Ander Murillo, signing a two-season contract. In his first games he managed to qualify the team for the group stage of the Europa League 2018-19, for the second time in its history, by clearly beating Dundalk (4-0), Sturm Graz (7-0) and AS Trenčín (4-1) in the previous qualifiers. On September 29, it achieved its first title by beating APOEL in the penalty shootout of the Cyprus Super Cup final. On January 14, 2019, after a bad streak of results, he was dismissed from his position.
CD Mirandés
On July 10, 2019, he signed his contract as the new coach of CD Mirandés, which had just been promoted to the Second Division. With the rojillo team, he managed to reach the Copa del Rey semifinals for the second time in its history. Rayo Vallecano
On August 6, 2020, his signing as the new coach of Rayo Vallecano was confirmed. On June 20, 2021, he achieved promotion to the First Division, after coming back in the play off against Girona (2-3 on aggregate)..
On February 2, 2022, he put Rayo in the Copa del Rey semifinals 40 years after his first time, later losing against Betis.
On May 19, 2022, it was confirmed that he would continue one more season at Rayo, despite having had a somewhat poor Second Round due to the achievements achieved in the First Round and in the Copa del Rey.
AFC Bournemouth
On June 19, 2023, after ending his contract with Rayo Vallecano, he would sign with AFC Bournemouth of the Premier League for the next 2 seasons with the aim of keeping the team in the highest category of English football.
National team
On November 19, 2003 he played his only U-21 international match in a match against Sweden.
Iraola made his debut with the Spanish team, on August 20, 2008, with coach Vicente Del Bosque in his first match as Spain coach, in a friendly match against Denmark. On October 11, 2008 he played his first match official with La Roja, against Estonia, replacing Sergio Ramos in the 53rd minute. He was not called up again until October 2009, where he played his first game as a starter against Bosnia (2-5). His next calls date back to November 2009. 2009, three consecutive calls between March and August 2011 and the last one in February 2012.
He could not be called up for Euro 2012 due to pubalgia.
