Altamiro de la Cueva is a series of fictional humorous comics (and the name of its main fictional character), created in 1965 by Joan Bernet Toledano and Carles Bech for the Spanish magazine TBO.

Plot and characters

These stories told the adventures of a group of prehistoric cavemen. Altamiro is not the strongest or the most powerful of his tribe, but he is witty, observant and helps the community.

The characters in these comics are white men, physically the same as modern men, but dressed in fur. Altamiro has black hair and a slight beard. In his pages anachronisms abound, and Altamiro himself manages inventions that in real history would take a long time to arrive.
