Allah-Taala

ImprimirCitar

Allah-Taala, god, supreme, creator and glorifier, worshiped mainly in the region of Hijaz, in Stone Arabia, before the advent of Muhammad.

Several of the ancient Arab tribes recognized, before the preaching of Muhammad, a creator of Heaven and earth and called him Allah-Taalai, the most high, in the opposite sense of the denomination of the other gods which they called Al-ilahat, inferior divinities; that according to them they were the true company of God, but totally submitted to his power.

The formula used to approach Allah-Taalai, was conceived in these terms. "I consecrate myself to your service, oh God, you have no companion, except the divinities that form your cohort: but of which you are the owner and sovereign as of everything that depends on them." When they planted fruit trees, or sowed a field, they drew a line that divided the ground into two parts, one for the sovereign God and the other for the lower divinities. If fruits fell from this part to the part consecrated to the great God, they had the habit of indemnifying them, which they did not do otherwise, because they said that the inferior divinities need what belongs to the sovereign God, but that he does not need it. nothing.

The ancient Greeks, who did not understand the words Allah-Taalai and Al-ilahat, formed the first name Orotal and the second name Orotal. of Alilat, indicating with them two divinities worshiped by the Arabs.
