All the brothers were brave
All Brothers Were Brave is a classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer era adventure film directed by Richard Thorpe and based on a novel by Ben Ames Williams..
Plot
Joel Shore comes from a family with a long seafaring tradition. When he takes charge of his whaling ship, he succeeds his brother Mark, who disappeared on the previous voyage under suspicious and shady circumstances, and whom everyone presumes dead. But before leaving, Joel marries Priscilla, who will leave on the ship with him. As the ship sails in search of whales, Joel probes the crew to try to find out what happened to his brother Mark, but what he learns doesn't tell him much, since it's not clear if his strange behavior was due to fevers. that he suffered or if it was due to his alcoholism. Surprisingly after a rough whale hunt, they arrive on an island where Mark appears, giving his version of events. Adding to the plot is the existence of a treasure trove of pearls on a remote island. This fact and the rivalry for Priscilla will make the brothers face each other.
