In organic chemistry, an alkynyl group is a functional group derived from an alkyne by removal of one of its hydrogen atoms.

Nomenclature

They are named from the alkyne of origin by adding the ending inyl:

  • CH≡C-etinilo
  • CH3-C≡C- 1-propinyl
  • CH≡C-CH2- 2-propinyl
