Alex Syntek
Raúl Alejandro Escajadillo Peña, known as Aleks Syntek (Mérida, Yucatán, September 29, 1969), is a Mexican Latin pop and rock singer-songwriter and producer. He has earned seven Latin Grammy Award nominations, one Grammy Award nomination, five MTV Latin Award nominations, and was the winner of two Latin Billboard Awards. Similarly, he won the Ariel award from the Mexican Film Academy for best film music. In addition, he is part of the board of directors of the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico (SACM).
Syntek has shared the stage with artists such as Cómplices, Fey, Enrique Iglesias, OV7, Kylie Minogue, Miguel Bosé, Juan Gabriel, Malú, Sandoval, Los Ángeles Azules, Alejandro Sanz, Noel Schajris, Leonel García, Cristian Castro, Armando Manzanero, Ximena Cetina and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas with Alondra de la Parra, Ana Torroja, Rubén Blades, Jesse and Joy, David Bisbal,
Biography
As a child, in the 1970s, he appeared in television commercials. He participated in the program "Rehilete" produced by RTC, and later as a comedian he began with "Alegrías de medio día (infantil)" in 1979, which later led to the television program "Chiquilladas" broadcast by Televisa in the first half of the 1990s. 1980. After leaving the program, he decided to dedicate himself completely to the world of music, working as an assistant and programmer in music recording studios. He was nicknamed by his friends due to a curious event: Aleks at that time did not have enough money to buy a keyboard, so he used to borrow them from his friends, this situation made him known as "THE without Keyboards", which later he came to call it Syntek.[citation needed] After participating with members of the Caifanes group to form the band "Pistolas de Platino" and later forming part of Kenny y los Eléctricos until in 1987 he formed his own group, called Aleks Syntek and Normal People.
As a performer and singer, Aleks has released nine albums receiving numerous Platinum and Gold records for high sales. He has also received three Billboard Awards, a Latin Grammy Award, a multi-nomination for the Latin Grammy and a multi-nomination on MTV Latino, as well as other special awards such as "The Honor Composer Achievement Award" delivered by the Univision network at the hands of the actor. Edward James Olmos and "The Music Legacy Award" presented by SESAC American Society of Composers (North American Society of Composers).
His work is not only focused on pop and rock but he has also composed instrumental music for films and shorts with excellent commercial results, when in 1999 he was awarded the Ariel Mexican Academy of Cinematography Award in the category the «Best Original Composition for Films» for «Sex, Modesty and Tears». She has also worked for Disney Latino writing and singing their adaptation of the song "We Belong Together" (which won the Oscar for Best Original Song), composed by Randy Newman for Toy Story 3. She performed the song "Ricas Frutas" for Sesame World Street through the Putumayo seal. In 2005 he collaborated with the theme "A real hero" for the animated film Robots and dubbed for Latin America the main character "Rodney Tinplate" and in My Favorite Villain as the antagonist "Vector" alongside Andrés Bustamante (the Spanish-American voice of Gru).
On August 18, 2010, the Secretary of Public Education, Alonso Lujambio presented the theme for the Bicentennial celebrations of Mexico: "The future is millennial" written by Jaime López and performed by Aleks Syntek.
In the last half of 2011, Aleks participated as a pioneer in the contest program for new singers called "La Voz... México" along with Lucero, Espinoza Paz and Alejandro Sanz, this broadcast broke audience records in the history of Mexican television. In his participation, Aleks performed duets with his colleagues from the program, as well as with invited artists such as Laura Pausini, David Bisbal, Amaia Montero and Joy from the duet Jesse & amp; Joy. The winner of his team, Óscar Garrido, was in 3. er place of the competence.
In July 2012, after 22 years of belonging to EMI Televisa Music, he moved to the Sony Music label and released his first album under this record label internationally and in more than 40 countries under the name "Syntek + Syntek", promotes the special edition of his most recent production "Romántico desliz" released on May 6, 2014.
Aleks releases on September 17, 2012 his first single after a couple of years called «La tormenta» to later present his new album called «Syntek + Syntek» and in which he returns to the electronic sound and New wave that he distinguished himself early in his career. At the same time, the Spanish singer Malú invites him to her album of duets, managing to reach a Platinum Record in Spain with the single "Solo el amor nos salvará" also written by Syntek and which was performed by both during the broadcast of the program. Recently[when?] he also participated as a host for National Geographic “Surprisingly” on the Nat Geo Latin America channel.
On Monday, October 28, 2013, he released the song "Invincible Hearts" as part of the soundtrack of the 2013 Televisa Mexican telenovela "Lo que la vida robó", starring Angelique Boyer, Sebastián Rulli, Luis Roberto Guzmán and Daniela Castro and that currently has been in 1.er national place for Radio in Chart Global for weeks.
In 2015 he presented the song "Tan cerquita" in collaboration with Cristian Castro, which managed to position himself in the Top 20 of the Monitor Latino ranking.
