From December 13, 1991 to February 8, 1992, 5,500 relays carried the Olympic torch on a 5,500-kilometre journey that began in Olympia, Greece, and passed through Athens before leaving for France aboard the supersonic aircraft Concorde. On French soil, the route was like this:
Paris - Nantes - Le Havre - Lille - Strasbourg - Limoges - Bordeaux - Toulouse - Ajaccio - Nice - Marseille - Lyon - Grenoble - Albertville
