Airopsis tenella is a herbaceous plant of the Poaceae family.

Description

It is a very fine annual herbaceous. Stems 3–25 cm tall. Leaves not auriculate. The extreme part of the inflated sheet. linear blades; narrow; 1.5mm wide; setacea; coiled (convolute); no cross venation. ligule with membrane; not truncated; 1–2 mm long. It is a bisexual plant, with bisexual spikes, and hermaphroditic flowers. paniculate inflorescence; open, or contracted; spat. Spikelets not secondary; pediceladas (nailed pedicels).

Taxonomy

Airopsis tenella was described by (Cav.) Coss. & Durieu and published in Exploration Scientifique de l'Algérie 2: 97. 1867.

Cytology

Has a chromosome base, number, x = 4. 2n = 8. Diploid.
