Aventura is an American bachata group founded by Anthony "Romeo" Santos, Lenny Santos, Max Agende Santos and Henry Santos. They are considered one of the most influential Latin groups of all time.[citation needed] The group was an integral part of the evolution of bachata music and are the pioneers of the modern bachata sound. Aventura released five studio albums in a decade, creating many hits such as "Vamos Volverás", "Un Beso", "Mi Corazoncito", "Los Infieles" #34;, "The Loser", "For A Second", "Dile Al Amor", among others. They have sold out many arenas, including the world famous Madison Square Garden. Aventura has been nominated for awards such as the American Music Awards, the Latin Grammy Awards, the Billboard Latin Music Awards and the Premio Lo Nuestro. Aventura is one of the most internationally recognized Latin groups of the last two decades and frequently refer to themselves as "K.O.B." or "The Kings of Bachata".

In 2002, the song "Obsesión" was at No. 1 in Italy for 6 consecutive weeks and in Latin America, Spain and America it was in the Top 10 for more than 90 consecutive days.

Career

1995-1999: The Tinellers

In 1993, Lenny Santos and his brother Max Santos formed La Banda Sueño. The lead singer of the group at the time was a close friend who was no good. Lenny and Max were looking for a singer who could help them take their music career more seriously. Lenny didn't know anyone in his neighborhood who could sing. He later met Anthony Santos through one of the group's musicians named Ronny Fernández, who attended the same school as Anthony. They clicked instantly and the two began working on songs together. Anthony was a singer and songwriter who sang with his cousin Henry in his local church choir. Anthony then introduces Lenny to his cousin Henry, who also joins the group. The group would perform for their neighbors, at bodegas, and on the streets for free in the Bronx. The group decided to change the name to Los Tinellers in reference to teenagers in English.

In 1995, the group was discovered by Elvin Polanco when Lenny and Anthony asked him if they could perform at a local parade he was organizing. Elvin, seeing potential in the group, became their manager. He helped them record their first studio album despite having no funds. They released their debut album in 1995 titled "Trampa de Amor" under Elca Productions. The album failed commercially, selling only a total of five copies. Elvin Polanco had some health problems and the group was left without a manager at that time.

1998-2005: Name change to Adventure

In 1996, with the help of the new manager Julio Césart García, the group creates a new image. July made the group look like the popular American "boy bands". He changed the name of Los Tinellers to Adventure. They signed a record deal with Premium Latin Music, Inc. They made their great debut in 1999, hoping to bring bachata music to the main stream from their traditional base. Slowly they started gathering fans in the cities of Boston and Lancaster. The group was the first to experiment with bachata merging the genre with R flipb, hip hop & rap, reggae and rock. Adventure broke the rules of the bachata. It was the first bachata act to sing a full bachata song in English. Anthony innovated the bachata with fresh lyrics that incorporated songs with different themes, instead of just singing on the desamor. Lenny innovated the guitar with his use of electric guitars. He also innovated the tone of the bachata guitar by adding guitar effects such as wah, phaser, distortion, trémolo and harmonizer. Max innovated the bachata bass with its use of techniques like funkeos. Max incorporated a lot of rock bass riffs into the bachata.

Three years later they returned with We Broke the Rules on July 2, 2002, an album that contains the song "Obsesión". The release of «Love & Hate" on November 18, 2003 established him definitively in the Hispanic market, and also in the American Hispanic market thanks to his songs in English and Spanglish.

On April 26, 2005 they returned to the scene with the production God's Project, and a year later on December 19, 2006 they released their live album K.O.B. Live; They later released a DVD and two CDs when they sang to a full house at Madison Square Garden in 2007. They then released their alleged last album The Last on June 9, 2009, after 4 years without recording any album in the studio.

2010-2011: Separation of the group

In February 2010, Romeo gave a statement at a press conference in the Dominican Republic, where he stated that the group could break up, but temporarily. On September 12, Max, the group's bassist, commented on his Twitter ("I'm also very happy for Romeo. Because I never wish him bad... But we built this together.") This was because the group's vocalist Anthony Romeo only went to present an award at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

On February 22, 2011 they performed at the Viña del Mar Festival, taking the silver torch, gold torch, silver seagull and the Golden Seagull. In April 2011, the group officially announced its separation and that he would take a break to work on individual musical projects. Henry embarked on a solo career, seeking to be accepted without the group. Romeo took the opportunity to sign with Sony Music Latin and also embarked on his solo career. Although Max wanted to focus more on his rap career, he joined his brother Lenny and formed a new bachata group called " D'Element'. They then joined Steve Styles from the bachata group Xtreme and changed the group's name to Vena.

2019-Reunion

On April 5, 2019 they release a new song called Inmortal on the album Utopia by Romeo Santos. On the 25th of the same month they performed at the Billboard Latin Music Awards where they performed the song and won the Tropical Artist of the Year, Duo or Group award.[citation required]

On September 21, 2019, the group reunited for Romeo's Utopia concert at MetLife Stadium. They performed hits like "Dile al Amor", "Todavia Me Amas" and "Immortal". The group performed "Obsesión" alongside Cardi B and also performed her hit song 'I Like It'. On December 8, 2019, an announcement was made regarding the band's upcoming US tour, La Gira Inmortal. It will be their first tour since they broke up in 2011, and kicked off in Los Angeles on February 5, 2020. [citation needed]

On May 8, 2020, they performed a live show through their YouTube channel as part of the Bud Light Seltzer sessions, in which they performed some songs from all their productions.[ citation required] On Thursday, May 14, Bud Light reported that the live section of Aventura broke the live broadcast record in the United States with 438 thousand simultaneous views during the program, surpassing the mark by David Guetta.[citation required] On August 3, 2021, they release Volví with Bad Bunny and finish their Inmortal tour, showing their fans and followers that they are still los reyes, in the Dominican Republic with two consecutive performances on December 18 and 19, the second being open at the request of the public after tickets for the first were quickly sold out, in which the Spanish singer Rosalía also participated singing alongside Romeo el "Obsession" theme.

On Friday, July 16, 2010, Max pleaded guilty to the charges by paying a fine of $1,000 and a special penalty of $100.
