Adam Jared Brody (San Diego, December 15, 1979), better known as Adam Brody, is an American television and film actor, and musician at the time partial. He began his career in 1995. Biography

He grew up in San Diego, the eldest child of Valerie, a graphic artist, and Mark Brody, an attorney. His parents, both Jewish, are originally from Detroit, Michigan. He has younger twin brothers, Sean and Matt. brody. He attended Wangenheim Middle School and Scripps Ranch High School and grew up in suburban San Diego. Brody attended college for one year, but dropped out at nineteen. In 1999 he moved to Los Angeles, where he took drama classes and signed a contract with an agent.

Career

After a year of training and auditions, Brody landed the role of Barry Williams in the TV movie Growing up Brady (2000) and also supporting roles in the Canadian television series The Sausage Factory or in Gilmore Girls. In the latter his participations were during 2002-2003 as Dave Rygalski , Lane's bandmate and love interest before she left on a trip to California. In 2001, he played a small role in American Pie 2 , where he was called a 'high school boy'. His appearance is only for a couple of minutes.

In 2003, his life changed when he began to play his best-known role to date: Seth Cohen, a seventeen-year-old boy, a fan of comics, movies, science fiction, something of an outcast at his institute by many people at The O.C.. Brody improvised some comedic lines of dialogue for the character. The role made him an idol among the youngest, with the character that has been described by the Los Angeles Times as "the sexiest freak on television". The show was finally canceled in 2007 and ended its broadcast in February of that year. His next film was In the Land of Women, a romantic comedy co-starring Meg Ryan and Kristen Stewart released on April 20, 2007. In the film, Brody plays the title role, a writer she returns to her mother's Michigan hometown in order to care for her ailing grandmother. Brody did not have to audition for the role, but was nearly unable to appear in the film due to scheduling conflicts with the second season of The O.C.. The same year, Brody also appeared in supporting roles in the lower-budget films Smiley Face, playing a marijuana dealer, and The Ten, as a paratrooper. He also appeared in the Smallville episode 'Crush' as a guest.

Brody, along with actor Zac Efron, was in consideration for the lead role in the film Speed Racer, a role that was eventually given to Emile Hirsch. Brody also considered producing an adaptation of Revenge of the Nerds, which was canceled early during filming.

In 2009, he played the character of Nikolai Wolf, the vocalist and guitarist of Low Shoulder, in the film Jennifer's Body starring Megan Fox. He also co-starred with Josh Lucas in Boaz Yakin's drama, Death in Love. In 2010, he appeared in Kevin Smith's film Cop Out , which was shot in New York and co-starred Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan and later in The Romantics alongside to Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel.

On July 1, 2010 it was announced that Brody was cast as Detective Hoss in Scream 4 (2011) alongside David Arquette, Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere. The film was released in April 2011. That same year, Brody voiced himself the character Woodie in the MTV animated series Good Vibes. Brody also appeared in The Oranges (2011) alongside Leighton Meester and Hugh Laurie. In January 2012, it was announced that she had joined the cast of Lovelace, a biopic about porn star Linda Lovelace in the late 1970s. It was directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman and co-starred by Amanda Seyfried and Demi Moore. Brody plays Harry Reems. In 2014, Life Partners is expected to premiere. In this film Adam reunites with his current wife, Leighton Meester. Filming took place in April 2013. After several years of absence from the cinema, he returned to the big screen in 2019 playing the heroic and older version of Freddy in the hit DC movie Shazam.

Private life

Brody is a member of the indie rock band Big Japan, and is the group's drummer. Also in the band is actor Bret Harrison.

He writes scripts and songs in his spare time and has co-written, with Danny Bilson and Paul DiMeo, a Wildstorm Comics miniseries called Red Menace. Brody has also volunteered as an actor with the Young Storytellers program, which is dedicated to developing literacy, self-expression, and self-esteem in elementary school children.

Relationships

He was in a relationship with his The O.C. co-star, Rachel Bilson for three years, until December 2006.

Since 2012, he has been in a relationship with actress Leighton Meester. In November 2013, Brody and the actress became engaged after a year of dating, and married on February 14, 2014 in a private ceremony with close family and friends. The couple reside in Los Angeles. On August 4, 2015, Meester and Brody welcomed their first daughter, Arlo Day Brody. In April 2020, the couple confirmed that they were expecting their second child, a son, who was born in August of that year.
